The Art of Fabric

Pure Linen 60 Lea

Our 60 lea fabric  is exceptionally soft and feels like second skin from the very first wear light, breathable, and effortless. We source it from one of the world’s oldest mills in the world,  rooted in Ireland  carrying a heritage built on generations of weaving expertise and original machinery.  Today, the same craftsmanship and time honored technology continue through their operations in India  where we work closely with their legacy and precision.

At Sauca, we believe that fabric is the core of the luxury. This is why our linens are created to feel beautiful from the first wear , and to age gracefully with every wash. Becoming softer, more personal, and more trusted over time. The fibers evolve with you, the texture adapts to you, and the garment stays with you and cherished across seasons .

Our 60 Lea linen is crafted for everyday comfort and long day wear, offering breathability , softness and ease, without feeling heavy on the skin. It is ideal for lightweight tops and bottoms, designed to support movement and all day wearability in warm and humid climates.

Some of our most cherished essentials  like the Rivera shirt and bottoms  are made from this fabric. The Riviera capsule reflects everything we stand for comfort, longevity , breathability and quiet luxury  crafted to be lived in every day, and to only get better with time.

Herringbone Weave

The herringbone weave is more than a pattern it is a part of textile heritage. inspired by the rhythmic zig-zag symmetry seen in Roman opus spicatum architecture.  Its enduring appeal comes from the way the twill structure is “broken” and reversed to form the iconic V shaped herringbone a  design language historically valued across European and Italian tailoring for its strength, structure and timeless sophistication..

At Śauca we reinterpret this heritage weave in pure linen herringbone, bringing together  tradition and conscience in one fabric. Our linen is sourced with intention, from mills that continue a lineage of craft now operating in India, ensuring the same level of expertise, machinery and precision carries forward. For me, sustainability is where real luxury begins and this fabric reflects that belief: intrinsically durable, naturally breathable, and thoughtfully constructed.

The broken twill ‘V’ formation gives the fabric a refined structure with a robust character, making it ideal for lightweight suiting, blazers, and tailored pants — garments that require elegance without fragility. What was once a weave loved for function and form in European tailoring, is now reimagined in linen to offer a quiet, enduring luxurythat feels modern, but carries the grace of history.

Through our use of herringbone linen, I bring together two pillars I stand firmly on:
heritage through craft, and sustainability through purpose — fabrics that are not only designed to endure seasons, but to be cherished for years.

Because for me, and for Sauca, luxury is not defined by a label, but by integrity, experience, and the fabric’s ability to live and evolve with you.

Giza Cotton

Giza cotton developed in Egypt and globally recognized as a benchmark for extra long staple luxury cotton is prized for its natural luster, strength and silky hand feel.We source our Giza cotton fabrics from Italian heritage mills that have extended their operations into India.  bringing the same textile expertise and advanced machinery to their manufacturing here. The result is a fabric with a refined , subtle sheen and an exceptionally soft touch. often compared to satin for its smooth, skin-friendly feel.

Lightweight, breathable, and remarkably comfortable, Giza cotton adapts effortlessly from day to night . Making it suitable for everyday wear , office essentials and evening silhouettes.   its fibers are naturally strong and pill resistant, which helps the fabric maintain its elegance over time. It is also low maintenance  offering excellent color uptake when dyed and retaining its gentle sheen even after repeated washing when cared for properly.

Pieces like the Madelline dress , Colette top and Baxter shirt  reflect why this cotton is so loved soft from the first wear , graceful in drape and enduring in character  designed to be trusted and cherished well beyond a single season.

Brush cotton

Brushed cotton is celebrated for its exceptional softness and warm , comforting hand feel ,  achieved through a finishing process that gently lifts the surface fibers, giving it a wool like appearance without heaviness.  The brushed nap forms a natural insulating layer, trapping a thin pocket of air for lightweight warmth while remaining breathable.  When crafted well, the fiber structure supports durability and reduced pilling helping garments maintain their refined, premium look over time. This makes it an ideal choice for soft shirting , relaxed trousers and minimal cold weather layers offering softness from first touch warmth through the day and longevity through seasons. A heritage finishing technique, refined for modern wardrobes that value comfort , endurance and quiet luxury.

We use  Japenese Bemberg  for the internal lining of our garments, including pants and skirts, shirts  to elevate both the luxury quotient and the structural integrity of every piece.  Japanese Bemberg provides essential shape and structure while ensuring maximum comfort for the wearer.

This textile is often referred to as vegan silk because it is a sustainable material made from cotton linter waste  a byproduct of the cotton industry. Beyond its ethical sourcing, Japanese Bemberg is highly desirable for its performance. It is excellent at moisture absorption provides natural cooling properties  and is extremely soft  offering a luxurious feel against the skin.

We strategically incorporate Japanese Bemberg in critical areas such as pocket linings and the lining for the crotch area .
